No More Cutting

Last Sunday we had Cathy from KoolKat Quilting in Toowoomba visit
our patchwork group. She showed us a cutting machine. How Kool it
was lots of squares and shapes in just minutes. Just bliss for those of us
who hate cutting. We were sewing a quilt top in 20 minutes or so. Sorry
about the photos I am have trouble loading them. Gr.....

Sewn in so little time

What's On My Sewing Table

That is the question a friendly blogger asked me the other day. Whats on your sewing table ? Well other than a TAFE CERT 4 that is taking it over a bit at the moment. I have been working on a seasonal quilt, sort of "yule" christmas. but could be used at any time of the year. It is called "Holiday Chorus".  My local quilt shop has it as a block of the month. I just love the colours and the litle birds. The next step is put it together.   I also have a "Leannes House " on the go. The stitching is all done , now just a quiet weekend to put it together.
Big News my son and his fiance have bought a house in Bundaberg, far from home but that is life- looks like holidays at Bagara Beach! A good  thing is Bundaberg has a great patchwork shop- lots of yummies there!

Mothers Day Wishes

Happy Mothers Day to all the mums out there in blogland. I hope you are able to spend it with your children. I am not this year so it is a liitle sad but technology and phones are amazing things.  "Grease" the musical that I have ben working on is over Yeah! It was a big success and the costumes have now moved from my laundry floor to the clothes line and into packing bags Yeah! again . Now some time to sew for me. I received some lovely inspiration to sew from my darling hubby for mothers day. I have included a pic.

some time to sew Dudley by " Melly and Me" so cute

Cup of Pins anyone?
I thought I would show you this cute little tea cup pin cushion I found when travelling in Tasmania. I am not sure if it is a pattern or someone clever just made it. It reminds me of my grandama with her willow dinner service.

Easter Engagement

Hello Friends,
I am sorry I have not blogged or posted nice sewing pics for a bit. I had a lovely excuse, we had our son's engagement party at home. We catered and looked after 100 friends and family and new family over the whole Easter break . It was wonderfully exhausting, there is something special when your son finds a lovely girl with a lovely family. I hope to return to my sewing room as soon as my house has returned to some form of normality. A snippet of our fun.

My Place on the Border

I thought I might let my blog friends see a liitle of my garden at home on the border.

A nice spot to sit and stitch

A home for all those indoor pots that become outdoor pots and just seem to love it

My first pictures

Here goes the first photo download!
"Blocked in " this is the first of many blocks , 9 more to go for a queen size quilt. I love shabby chic, but look at my friend Margie's, how dramatic are the colours! Our local quilt group is called McIntyre Quilters and we are always looking something to do. We meet on th 4th Sunday of the month. I am not making any promises for a finished date but the next step is to cut it in half and rejoin it with another 1/2 block. Could be interesting?
