Finally Some Sewing

While travelling I was able to get up to date with my block of the month I am doing with Kerry at "Cottage on the Hill". The wool was easy to work with while covering the many Kilometres we did over the Christmas holidays.

These are a few of my favourites, Uluru and gum nuts were my additions to make it a little more memorable for me.

I still have to do three more  squares to finish the 3 rows.

The appliqués are whip stitched and all is done  wool. The pattern is by " Wooden Spool Designs"

Large Lunches

If  you ever have lunch at "the Long Track," in a little place called Jugiong  between Young and Harden in NSW only order one meal for two of you.  A doggy bag was definitely needed. The food was fresh and delicious. It never ceases to amaze me where these little gourmet treasures turn up when you are traveling. It was a popular spot, lots of customers.

I should tell you about the horse sculpture. It was in memory of a policeman ,Sergeant Edmund Parry who was killed trying to protect people from the bushrangers. In is case " Ben Hall". It was made of steel and from a distance very realistic and close up very interesting.

Beautiful Shops

Gail's Patchwork Emporium at Ballarat an amazing

shop.

Linda's Gum Valley Patchwork  in Victoria  is in the Great Ocean Road area near Timboon.  She has the most amazing quilt made of tiny hexies. Her big blue shop in the hills is lovely.

Needless to say I bought some goodies at each shop I will post about later.

Great Ocean Road

For my overseas friends the Great Ocean Road is a very famous piece of our beautiful coastline located at the bottom of Australia in the state of Victoria .

It has been on my to do list for a long time so we hooked up our new caravan
and away we went. It was spectacular.

A Thoughtful Gift

My Secret Santa Nancy was kind enough to send a gift for my granddaughter. I mentioned it in my last post but here is a photo of her receiving it.

Thank you secret Santa Nancy

Thank you so much Nancy http://nancynearphiladelphia.blogspot.com.au for my beautiful pin wheel apron, the chocolates and the nail file and of course the gorgeous decoration.

Little Evelyn received her doll but I am sure she was looking for its's face...??  No doubt this is what you were going to tell me about. We have had a wonderful Christmas Day it was hot and sunny and we swam and ate and played tennis and cricket.
