Had to Share

Had to share this little photo.. dad was in the shower and mum away..... what else is there a girl to do but read a novel or two while sucking on her dummy.... Josh said when he got out the grown ups  book shelf was all over the place and Ev was reading aloud in her own little way, having a lovely time.  The book was even the right way up...

A fast progression from the last photo I posted of her reading ....LOL

Sewing and Photos

I have been madly stitching to catch up on some hand sewing I am doing for a stitch along with  my blog group.  I am still behind but getting there. These are some blocks from   Nature's Journey by Anni Downs  of  " Hatched and Patched".  Anni is one my favourite designers.  I love her work.

Some photos of our favourite girls....I wonder what is on her mind...Such a little girl and such a big ocean.

How nice to be so young and free of fear of things like... going topless at the beach, flipping fish fins and  claws on live crabs. Lots of trust in Mummy and Daddy I think.

Finally I leave you with a picture by an amazing photographer..Dan Mcintosh.  He takes amazing photographs of the outback.. you can check him out him on Facebook.

Finished Just in Time

I have finally finished my project from "Girls day in The Country "2014.  I think I have done something wrong. The pocket is too big but that's OK more room for more sewing things.
It is called Hexagon Sewing Bag by Lynette Anderson.

Stitch Along Finish

I have just finished a table runner using a free Christmas pattern by Anni Downs. Yes I know Christmas is over, but think how prepared I will be for next Christmas.

I am in a Stitch A Long and it was the first project.  I used some  Lynette Anderson Christmas fabric to finish the project.  When cleaning up my sewing room I found some star templates. These inspired me in my design for my project.

I thought I would show you my cute button boxes I found.

Two Done Two to Go.

I have completed the second item in my quilt group challenge. I have decided to make a "school set" , 2 fat quarters used, two to go. I covered this pencil case with laminate, hopefully it will keep the outside a bit cleaner.

I am not sure you can really see it. This plastic coating just irons onto the fabric.
The little fish zip pull is handy to find the zip when there is a zip flap.
I found the zip pull in Charleville, South West Queensland.
A Cute little shop there has some sewing and patchwork shop needs.

Quilt Group Challenge and my New Sewing Machine

My lovely husband gave me a wonderful Christmas present. A new sewing machine. A Janome  Horizon MC 8900 QCP.

I have been busting to try it. Yesterday I finally cleared all the house from the new carpet being laid and found time to make a small project.

Our quilt group had a quilt challenge and as usual I am running late but I will have it done by our Feb meeting. I received some cute  colourful fabric so I am going to do a fun set with  it.  All my school needs. Started with a glasses case.

The fabric I drew from the basket ( 4 fat quarters in a bundle and wrapped) and then I can  use one metre of a fabric of my choice.

My inspiration -  an  Anni Downs project

Ta da !!!  First little project .. Love those spring openings.

My new sewing machine ...so lucky to have a beautiful husband who knows I love sewing and loves me.

My sewing room also received a makeover during my carpet renew I dedicated a new cupboard to the sewing room .. heaps more storage...might keep me organised ..LOL...
