Sewing for Glamping

I started this on Friday night . Tried to sign up for the Stitch In with "Dory" but I am not sure it worked... any way...This is what I did but only finished yesterday due to unexpected visitors.

I love that word "glamping"  Camping in style... Spent many years camping the hard way.  I love my new caravan..

I have been making some bags to store those objects that rattle around. We bought a couple of 12 volt fans for camping away from the power.

Found this really cute novelty fabric ... yes it has caravans on it.....  just made for the job.

A draw string bag with some simple quilting for the large fan.

Matching pair .   A smaller non quilted bag for the small fan .

                                                       Enjoy Your Sewing.

Read to your Kids

"I know one blogger at least who is an avid reader to her grandchildren......Denice (Denice's Day) this is for you..

This is a little Aussie book I always enjoyed reading to Josh when he was little.

"Wombat Stew" by Marcia K Vaughan

Here is a little peek

A Baby Gift

A friend of our had a little baby boy recently so the Kangaroo quilt finally found a home. It was washed up in softly and wrapped up today ready for the cold nights ahead. I had better add the date to this label  by the looks of it . Funny how you don't notice until you see the photos.

Stitch Along June

I have been working on my Stitch Along  " Natures Journey"  by Anni Downs.

So glad I had cut out and saved all these 1 1/2 squares as I have gone along. I often cut squares from left over off cuts and keep them in containers. Never know when you need squares.

That is the month of June finished...

Stitching and NRL Hero

I have been working on a quilt called "Natures Journey" by Anni Downs .
I love this quilt and I am getting to really like needle turn applique.

This is my favourite block so far .

Petro Cinoniseva  ( may not be the correct spelling ) made a visit to our school yesterday. He spoke to the children about building  resilience skills and being positive.  He was very nice to the students and to the teachers and was happy to have some photos taken with us.
I have to say he is one of my favourite NRL players. For a big man  he was very quietly spoken and lovely.

Little up Town Girl

Last week I  made up a little coat for our granddaughter. I got the pattern from  Kerry at  "Cottage on the Hill" a while ago. I have to say it was very easy if you have any dressmaking skills. Although I am sure a beginner could make it.   I love the colours Kerry put together in the kit.

Even better is that it was just the right size and she "might" even get next winter out of it.  I made her size 3.

On the weekend I met up with my little family in Brisbane and  Ev wore her new coat up and down Queen Street Mall like a little model.  I have to say she got a few smiles from the passers by. The pattern is by"make it perfect" and it is called  "little up town girl."  A  very appropriate jacket for the weekend trip to the our State's capital city.

I loved the little red riding hood theme of the fabric.....

Getting ready.... sorry the photos are not that great.

Then we went out on the town for dinner and shopping.......
