Australia Day - I spent Australia Day in North Queensland with my brother in law and his family. It has rained all day and all night since I arrived Thursday. Just lovely to have rain I hope I take some home with me. We ate pies and burgers and had some nice wine. We talked and told stories and had a great time.

Bias Maker
I bought this little machine last year and this is the first time I have used it .. I know ... terrible isn't it. But anyway... it is a very useful little gadget if you have to make lots of bias or you like to use bias in a lot of your sewing or craft projects. Its made by simplicity
roll on your strips
Thread it through as in a normal bias maker
Put the cover on
Press the button and away you go
Nice to be at the Chookshed
On my way to Chooky's
Last weekend I made a quick decision to visit Chookyblue. Haven't been out for a while so off I went on my four hour journey. These aren't the best photos but I often see some brumbies ( wild horses) in the forest near Piliga. I love seeing them but they are a bit shy.

Dad's 81
Last Sunday was my Dad's 81st. I thought I would try American peanut butter pie, my favorite dessert when I was there. It was not as successful as I wanted . Our cornflour must be stronger as the filling was too thick and I couldn't get the peanut butter crumble to go on the base so I used crushed buttersnap biscuits. It didn't work the same but I am going to try again and do some modifications. One of my goals for this year is not to waste food so I made a pavlova with the egg whites which were not required for the recipe The pool and the BBQ were well used.
