A kangaroo family

This is the way to work and town and these are my mates on the way . Their family is growing. They seem to like to live on the edge of town in an empty paddock with easy access to the golf course and some  scrub to sleep under during the day.  Sorry about the poor photography  it's the distance as they are wild kangaroos .

In October I am joining Kerry Swain's Quilting tour of the US and the best news is I am going to visit one of my blogger friends. So I am trying to post a few photos of my town before I go.

I was Denice's secret santa a few years ago and we have stayed in contact ever since. She suggested she might try to catch up while I was there and now I am going to visit her at her place for a couple of days before I fly home......So excited.
 Denice's Day  (weesied.blogspot.com.au).

I am so grateful for my blogger friends and for my now dear  friend  Chookyblue  who made all this possible a few years ago at GDITC  when she convinced me to be a blogger. See all you bloggy  friends  soon at Nundle .

On my way to work today

Today I decided to stop on my way to work to take a photo or two. The photography isn't great its just on my phone. However it will give you an idea of my day . The mornings are beautiful and hopefully that dreadful hot summer is gone. Harvest time heat and a dry interior in our country always bring the white birds ( a parrot)called corella's in their hundreds. The pink and white parrots called galahs are always around and some sulphur crested cockatoos as well.  This photos is on our school agriculture plot.

Not a handsome parrot I'm afraid

Little bags

Bernie wanted me to make him a couple of little bags to hold odds and ends in his briefcase ... so here they are. I covered them in Vinyl to make them a little waterproof.

A quilt for Adelyn

So hot here today so I spent some time in the sewing room finishing off this little quilt.

Saturday, 11 February 2017

I was enjoying spending some time in my sewing room today. Really getting on with this project by Bonnie Sullivan. It is all hand sewn. Bonnie is our guest tutor for girls day in the country next month. I am looking forward to it.

I also whipped up a quick strip quilt as a baby quilt for a little friend . I just have to applique her name on it and quilt it.

Cute Fairies.

More "All Through The night"

Lots of cutting all of these back to 4 inch blocks

Do you recognise "Uluru"

A challenge

I am trying hard to finish this Bonnie Sullivan project before we go to Girls Day in The Country in Nundle in March . I've done nearly all of the blocks so wish me luck on that. Some blocks have been changed to make it a little more Aussie. There are some gum nuts, Uluru,  a pale headed Rosella and a few more.  Well I am hoping they look like those things... the art work may not be so good..

  1. It is all wool and the appliques are just whip stitched. I have not done this before and worry it wont be strong but it is only a wall hanging. Although for me it may go on the table.. we will see.
