Foxley Village Finished

  I have finally finished putting the bind on this beautiful quilt. I just  love Natalie Bird's work and Tilda fabrics. I changed the pattern slightly and didn't use the same outside border as in the pattern because I preferred the white however I did use a multi- coloured bind.

Finally this beautiful quilt top is finished and ready for quilting.

It had been a journey that I planned to take one year but it has taken two. The ladies in my sewing group decided we would all undertake one of these for our 2016  project.  The quilt is by Natalie Bird and it was featured as a block of the month in Homespun. Natalie used Tilda fabrics.. I love Tilda ..so cute..I think I have used 95% Tilda for this.

I used the needle turn technique to applique , I am getting better at it now and I think I prefer it to using the blanket stitch technique.

I made one change to Natalie's lovely quilt.  The border really wasn't for me so I chose a plain white border.  So happy to have the top done.

Foxly

Today I spent most of the day in my sewing space. Its been a long time. I worked on Foxly Village. So pleased to have all the blocks together and now its time for the border. I just love this quilt and it's bigger than I thought. This is the second quilt  where I have used  the needle turn applique technique. I think I am finally getting it.!  The quilt design is by Natalie Bird and I have mainly used Tilda fabric.

I have been trying to work on this project for a while and I am slowly getting there. Too many life interruptions lately. But ..there is no race is there? This is my happy space!
