Little bags

Bernie wanted me to make him a couple of little bags to hold odds and ends in his briefcase ... so here they are. I covered them in Vinyl to make them a little waterproof.

A quilt for Adelyn

So hot here today so I spent some time in the sewing room finishing off this little quilt.

Saturday, 11 February 2017

I was enjoying spending some time in my sewing room today. Really getting on with this project by Bonnie Sullivan. It is all hand sewn. Bonnie is our guest tutor for girls day in the country next month. I am looking forward to it.

I also whipped up a quick strip quilt as a baby quilt for a little friend . I just have to applique her name on it and quilt it.

Cute Fairies.

More "All Through The night"

Lots of cutting all of these back to 4 inch blocks

Do you recognise "Uluru"

A challenge

I am trying hard to finish this Bonnie Sullivan project before we go to Girls Day in The Country in Nundle in March . I've done nearly all of the blocks so wish me luck on that. Some blocks have been changed to make it a little more Aussie. There are some gum nuts, Uluru,  a pale headed Rosella and a few more.  Well I am hoping they look like those things... the art work may not be so good..

  1. It is all wool and the appliques are just whip stitched. I have not done this before and worry it wont be strong but it is only a wall hanging. Although for me it may go on the table.. we will see.

Garden Progress

After the pool and the extension things were a bit" construction site" looking but now the garden is getting back to life. I don't know how with the huge number of 40 degree plus days we have had and next week expecting more.

This has been a terrific investment for us I use it every day.

This has come from nothing to this since July . Even the Agapanthus which I transplanted from my mums garden have all thrived and flowered. Sorry about the dead palm leaves but they will be gone soon. We have even had a snake drinking out of the bird bath on one of  hot days . Its the first time I have ever seen that in my life and I have seen quite a few snakes. A big eastern brown standing up straight as a stick drinking out of it. Needless to say I left him alone until he went off into the paddock.

Finally Some Sewing

Finally I have found a day to get to my sewing room. I had to clean it up of course which took me most of the day as it seems to get used as a place to put all sorts of things over the Christmas period. Its very close to my kitchen  and doorway .... so easy just to drop things off  there... I tell myself it wont happen next year but it always does.

Today I did a little work on the block for "Foxley Village" by Natalie Bird .
My sewing group is doing this together we all bought the Homespun" magazine patterns last year or this, I love the quilt. I am the one who had the idea but I am also the one who is way behind. I am using mostly Tilda fabrics.
