Perfectly Pleasing Pin Cushion Parade

Thought I might join the Perfectly Pleasing Pin Cushion Parade. 

The little tea cup I got  few years ago in Georgetown Tasmania. My dear friend Gail made me the large blue one with the embroidery. The large pink one was a gift as a kit from another Gayle (SIL). The others are a combination of gifts from friends and some I have made.

This is one of the cutest - Pincushion and storage all in one in the shape of an orange. Thanks to Dawnie for this one. 

True Love

I think when your husband is visiting San Francisco,  Enid, Oklahoma and Salt lake City on a work trip  and finds time to stop by 2 patchwork shops and buys you fabric... that's true love. I love him to bits.  I am grateful every day that I married him 35 years ago. Look what he chose for me...I just love it all. I was so surprised !!

These  blue /grey panels are  just awesome, the way the landscape is a part the animal. I will have to look for some fabrics to use with them.

Wattle

Queensland silver wattle 

Golden Wattle. Acacia Pycnantha. (plant family: Mimosaceae). Floral Emblem of Australia. 

On the Goondiwindi to Millmeran  road on the  the Gore Highway . The wattle grows madly between late July and  late September

Look out Chickens here Come the Kids

We had a big family weekend. My niece was engaged. All the big cousins and little cousins visited and camped on our block . The kids had a ball driving in the buggy and checking out the chooks. 15 little ones oldest 8 youngest 4 months.

A Lovely Weekend with Friends Fires and Drinks

Our very dear friends from Brisbane came out for their country visit. We ate and drank far too much but what a nice night. The pizza oven was baking, the outdoor fire  smoldering and even the inside fire place was alight for later. It was lovely and cold .  Sadly that may be it , the forecast is for 33 C next week ... could be swimming in winter? I did finish another Lucy block last night but no photos.sorry.

Garden Visitor

My garden has many bearded dragon lizards , today I caught one on camera.
This is him when I was keeping my distance .

This is him when I moved a little closer - trying to look tough. The closer I got the tougher he tried to look. They are funny creatures to watch. They get up quite high on their legs and run really fast when they want to get somewhere quickly. They look so pre- historic to me . This one was about 35 cm long (13 inches ) . Of course they are harmless.

A Long Awaited Dream

My dream was to have a swimming pool and that came true last year. It was hubby's  dream to have a wood fired clay pizza oven and now it's done . The process took 2 weekends and an expert concreter.

Visitors and Finishes

This one is finally finished. I'm on a mission to get things finished and out of the cupboard.

 I have a few quilt tops to go. I quilted this one myself ( as I have shown you before) and now the bind is done. This one used some Kaffe Fassett fabrics  and was made with Kerry Swain at Cottage on the Hill.

In between preparing some Lucy Boston Blocks. Sandy from "Shiralee Stitches " does a great job with these I just wish I could sew them as fast as she sends them to me.

I have had 2 lots of unexpected  visitors over the last few days  " Chooky Blue"  , Donna and her hubby and Janis of "janimary" and her hubby .  Two different days of course. Was so nice to catch up with them all.  There was no stitching just a lovely chat over a meal. So nice to see them, thanks for calling girls.

Holiday Photos

B and I have just come home from a 3 day taster cruise and the theme was Christmas in July. We left Brisbane Saturday and returned Tuesday morning. I have never cruised before so I hope the photos don't bore you. The weather was glorious for winter and everything about the cruise was great. I can see how these quilt designers are taking sessions on cruises. It would be great.
