Campbell Town

 15th February

From the north coast heading towards the midlands . Today we headed to the mid-lands. We left Deloraine and went to Campbell Town . We spent the night in the free camp area near the Red Bridge .It was built in 1938 as a part of the the Lieutenant - Governor George Arthur’s road and bridge construction plans. It is still the major bridge crossing in Campbell Town today.  It’s the oldest bridge still in use on the national highway network. The work was done by 220 convict labourers.
