The Huon Valley is the centre for Salmon production. The pens in the open sea (top) is where the salmon are grown. Did you know every week every fish gets sucked into the hull of the big boats (below) and gets washed or bathed in fresh water.. About 18mths to fully grow |

The fish are then returned to these pens where they are killed and bled and then they go to the top of Tassie to Davenport where they are processed. They are then anywhere in the world with in 72 hours. Huon fish farms.. | The blue line is where we travelled in the Huon Valley and bottom east coast area. |
In the Huon Valley there are many places that grow apples and cherries and making apple cider and gin is also popular .So many apple and cherry farms and at least 3 salmon producing companies that I saw. We stayed at the Huon Valley Caravan Park for 4 days It was a clean , green park , with platypus in the river and a display with live Tasmanian Devils |
