A Flannel Finish
I am on a finish challenge at the moment. I have a few quilt tops that need quilting so - some for me to do and 3 have gone to the long arm quilter. So I will be binding like crazy next month when they are done.
I have never machined down a bind on a quilt before. I always do one side on the machine and the final side I stitch down by hand. Not today! On this quilt ( all flannel, cuddly quilt) I did my first all machine bind. I am a very novice machine quilter but it is done.
Didn't turn out too bad . |

A Weekend with Shiralee Stitches
On the weekend we were lucky enough to have a workshop with Sandy Cousins from "Shiralee Stitches". Sandy specialises in English paper piecing and has designed several quilts herself. Our group enjoyed the weekend.
What a fun day

Shabby Quilt for Winter
I have been a bit out of sewing lately so I am making a comeback by some easy finishes. This was started a long time ago, all that was done was the cutting out. With one thing after another, you all know how it is....
Now it's done and finished for winter snuggles. It's done with 8 inch squares.
The garden is really green at the moment.. lovely weather... no heat .

Great Grandma's Scissors
These were Bernie's grandmother's( Elsie Kerr) scissors. Bernie's mum passed them on to me when I visited her last. They are still very sharp.

Quilpie 100 Year Celebration Machinery Parade
To celebrate 100 years of Quilpie they had a vintage machinery parade. They had approx 80 restored vehicles and a couple of this era. Don and Paddy from Orange bought this load of beautifully restored trucks , big and small to the show. An interesting fact is that Quilpie is the end of the railway line to the west from Brisbane.
