Dad's 81

Last Sunday was my Dad's 81st. I thought I would try American peanut butter pie, my favorite dessert when I was there.  It was not as successful as I wanted . Our cornflour must be stronger as the filling was too thick and I couldn't get the peanut butter crumble to go on the base so I used crushed buttersnap biscuits. It didn't work the same but I am going to try again and do some modifications.  One of my goals for this year is not to waste food so I made a pavlova with the egg whites which were not required for the recipe The pool and the  BBQ were well used.

It looks like you all had a fabulous day. The pav would have been a good backup. I’m sure you will work out the recipe

And I would struggle with the pavlova...something I love when others make it successfully. If you think there is a difference in the ingredients, using less of yours might work. But of course, you know that! Good luck!

Looks like a wonderful day regardless of the desert... I bet no-one noticed...
Happy birthday to your dad...xox
