Longley

Just a few kilometres closer to Hobart down the Huon Valley is a tiny village with a great pub. Sometimes the more isolated small pubs offer overnite  stays for caravans that are self contained. Often the cost is $10 or no cost if you have a drink or a meal there. We missed Longly on the way up because they had a show on at the pub and had no room, but we found it on the way back to Hobart. It is an old pub that is the centre of the community. I even saw a couple of people getting hair cuts out the back beer garden. …. HA HA !

The pubs beer garden had been built up using solid timber posts still hanging onto their bumps and knotches. Outside there was lots of old memorabilia just like inside. Out the front was a huge stump with axe embedded.

Out the back

More cars on top of things ….not a roof this time

The bus shelter - not blowing away in this one .

The wall was stamped with apple growers mark. I chose this one to show… had to be a Morris

At the camp

An unusual sign for me …. Not something we see at home

I couldn’t not take a photo of this.. The little town of sandfly … I just hope that is not why it was named. I had sandflies. What a cute donation tin
