Bicheno

After leaving St Helens we went South to Bicheno. This is a very small sea side town at the gateway to Freycinet Peninsula .  We stayed at the camp ground at Freycinet golf club. We looked around Coles bay and Freycinet , did some fishing but didn’t catch any of course but we tried.

There are lots of gin distilleries around Tasmania may be it should be the” Gin Isle” not the Apple Isle”

This place has the best general store … one that has almost everything.

The blow hole

.

So many rock formations so different to the sandy beaches I am used to

This is opposite the Lobster Shack at Bicheno

This orange algae seems to be common on the east coast
.

I love the huge range of seaweeds on the beaches , the colours are vivid and so many types. This one looked like lawn
